Using Nutrition to Support Balanced Blood Sugar Levels

June 28, 2022 6:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. CDT

The body is an amazing machine, and blood glucose levels offer a window into how this machine is functioning. Insulin resistance is a key contributing factor to health challenges and a major cardiometabolic risk. Every day, pharmacists and independent pharmacies see patients struggling to manage healthy glucose levels, which often leads to insulin resistance. What are we doing to help our patients manage these challenges?

Jeff Robins, RPh and special guest Melody Hartzler, PharmD will show you how nutrition can support balanced blood glucose levels. Join them as they:

  • Identify predispositions to hyperinsulinemia and elevated blood sugar
  • Define insulin resistance
  • Identify the common contributing factors to insulin resistance
  • Discuss the role of nutrition and lifestyle in blood glucose control and cardiometabolic risk
  • Explore the pharmacist’s role in managing blood glucose levels
